Safaa Benson-Effiom

Safaa Benson-Effiom is a playwright and screenwriter. She is an alumna of the Soho Theatre Writers’ Lab, where she wrote Til Death Do Us Part. The play went on to be shortlisted for the 2019 Tony Craze Award and one of the finalists for the 2020 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award.

Her play For The Culture was longlisted for both the 2021 Women’s Prize for Playwriting and the Theatre Uncut Political Playwriting Award.

She is currently part of the BBC Writersroom – London Voices scheme. Til Death Do Us Part is Safaa’s debut full production.
