Heather Brothers

The Heather Brothers were born in London, grew up in Zimbabwe, and spent their teenage years touring with their rock band. On returning to England, they recorded with various major record labels before joining an international music publisher as contract songwriters. During this period they wrote their first musical, Big Sin City, which after a national tour played a season at London’s Roundhouse – as did their second musical Love Bites, which they also co-produced. They then wrote and produced A Slice Of Saturday Night, their award-winning 60’s musical which, since breaking all records at the Arts Theatre in London’s West End, has completed four national tours of Britain, two European tours, and two tours of Japan; has enjoyed well over 300 productions worldwide and has been translated into nine languages. Recently the show played a limited season off-Broadway under the American title Café A Go-Go.

When their next musical, Lust, opened at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, the brothers had two shows running simultaneously in London’s West End. Lust also enjoyed a successful run, in translation, at Sweden's national theatre, and received American productions at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia and the John Houseman Theatre in New York City.

The brothers have written two thrillers, Blood Money (Derby Playhouse; American premiere, The Walnut Street Theatre) and Cold Sweat (Queens Theatre Hornchurch). Other work includes: a black comedy musical Gratuitous Sex and Violence (and Good Old Rock 'n Roll) (Millfield Theatre, optioned for New York), a thriller-horror homage Teen Scream (Theatre Royal Lincoln, Edinburgh Festival; re-written and renamed Camp Horror, Queens Theatre, Hornchurch, directed by Bob Carlton), and their latest show, The Bobby Dallas End of Tour Celebrity Party (co-authored with country artist Brooke Lundy and Tony n' Tina's Wedding co-creator Mark Nassar; upcoming American premiere). Several of these works have been published by Samuel French.

The brothers have also written, directed, and produced two films: The Big Finish and Seriously Twisted. Four more original screenplays, Continuum, Hunted, Feral and Graphic, are presently under negotiation.
