Pam Gems
Pam Gems’ first major success was Dusa, Fish, Stas and Vi (1977). Her productions with the RSC include Queen Christina (1977), Piaf (1978), Camille (1984) and The Danton Affair (1986). She was awarded the Olivier Award for Best New Play for Stanley in 1997, which also won the 1996 Evening Standard Award for Best Play. She has also been nominated for two Tony Awards, in 1997 for Stanley (Best Play), and in 1999 for Marlene (Best Book of a Musical). Other plays include Deborah’s Daughter, The Snow Palace, Mrs. Pat, and several adaptations including Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, Ghosts, The Lady from the Sea and Chekhov’s The Seagull, Uncle Vanya and The Cherry Orchard.
