Gary l. Blackwood

Gary I. Blackwood is best known as a writer of novels and nonfiction books for young adults and middle readers, yet he manages to find time to pen a stage play now and again.  His scripts - some for children, some for adults - have been produced by amateur, university, and professional theatres throughout the United States, and several have won major playwriting competitions.  Mr. Blackwood's adaptation of his bestselling Young Adult novel, The Shakespeare Stealer, has been staged by most of the top professional children's companies in the country, including Seattle Children's Theatre and Nashville Children's Theatre. His other plays include Ethan Frome, an adaptation of Edith Wharton's classic novella published by Samuel French. Mr. Blackwood lives in Nova Scotia.
