In this side-splitting musical extravaganza by the creators of Howard Crabtree’s Whoop Dee Doo!, new heights of hilarity are achieved in a series of outrageous skits celebrating gay life and creating an opportunity for uproarious, over-the-top costumes. The vibrant score includes huge production numbers like “Over the Top” and “Wear Your Vanity With Pride,” along with the heartbreaking ballad “Laughing Matters,” which Bette Midler famously recorded on her album Bathhouse Betty.
History
Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly opened off-Broadway at the Douglas Fairbanks Theatre on August 14, 1996. Directed by Mark Waldrop with costumes by Howard Crabtree, the production featured Stanley Bojarski, John Treacy Egan, David Pevsner, Jay Rogers and Michael West.
