Summary

Using the format of an end-of-term play, John Godber’s riotous comedy follows a new drama teacher’s progress through two terms of recalcitrant classes, synical colleagues and obstructive caretakers. In the end, disillusioned, the teacher departs for a safer private school.
History
Teechers was first performed by the Hull Truck Theatre Company at the Edinburgh Festival, 1987. Directed by John Godber, the production featured Martin Barass, Shirley Anne Selby and Gill Tompkins.
