Summary
Mrs Dundass has been married to the son of a great actor, who believes that he is equally great. While acting in a small repertory company, he strangled its woman owner because she would not recognize his supposed henius. Ten years have passed, and Mrs Dundass living obscurely in a bungalow colony on the Downs with four of here seven children. The eldest of the four is Lottie, who wants to become an actress, but has health issues with her heart. Lottie gets a trial on the strength of her grandfather name's. The producer is impressed by the publicity value of the idea, and Lottie passes muster at the rehearsal.
