Summary
“Frankie said we should do this, tell our story, cus yeah, it’s a mad one, and maybe someone might like it, and find it useful or whatever? So, that’s why we’re here…”
An uplifting new play about two siblings living in a rural community trying to get their heads around gender identity. Frankie is desperate to be understood, accepted, loved. But LGBTQ alphabet soup has got Michael’s head spinning. Why’s it gotta be so complicated? Why can’t they understand? Why can’t things go back to the way they always were? Unpicking the complexities of identity and the fierce family love that hopefully holds us together.
One Of Them Ones is an inspiring and celebratory new play by rising star Charlie Josephine, author of the critically acclaimed I, Joan.

Media
“Sweet, touching and frequently hilarious.” – The Reviews Hub
“Thoroughly good-natured and compassionate… a piece about how to have a hard conversation, and how high the stakes are when through the conversation your perception of the person will irrecoverably change… a wonderful play to tour schools and a useful aid to have tense conversations around gender.” – Theatre Matters
“Refreshing… this play isn’t afraid to explore various lines of arguments – at one point, gloriously mischievously. There’s anger and there’s frustration, but there are also moments of tenderness and palpable love.” – London Theatre 1
“One of Them Ones portrays its characters’ inner thoughts and progressions so well, and with such empathy, we could all learn from it.” – The Reviews Hub
