Overview

Former teacher Edward is looking forward to his retirement. After 45 years teaching, he finds himself under siege in his own home, with angry students attacking it, including throwing a brick through a window. As he is held captive in the house for six days with his wife, Maureen, his estranged daughter, Anna, arrives with many questions. The Cane explores power, control, identity and gender while considering the major failure of the echo-chamber of liberalism.
