Chas LiBretto
Chas LiBretto is a writer and performer based in New York.
He is the co-founder of Psittacus Productions, a theatre company specializing in the collision of ancient and modern stories. His recent writing includes the Pulitzer nominated Cyclops: A Rock Opera (w/ Landon Marcus), the novel A True History, A Cure in the House, the musical The Royal Pyrate (w/ Landon Marcus) and a full-length version of Laodamiad.
His writing has been produced and developed at Lincoln Center, Ars Nova, Pasadena Playhouse, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Vineyard Theatre, New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), Theater Masters, littlefield, Ugly Rhino, Columbia University, The Sargent Theatre, Musical Theatre Factory, Son of Semele Theatre, The Lost Colony, the Theatre of Epidauros, White Heron Theatre Company, and Paideia Institute. He is a recipient of an Anna Sosenko Assist Trust and a Puffin Foundation Grant.
He is an alum of Uncharted at Ars Nova and Theater Masters and holds an MFA in playwriting from Columbia University.
